Connor Prairie, an interactive historical museum designed with children in mind, is one of the most unique single locations in the entire state. Located on the Northside in Fishers, visitors almost feel like they have traveled back in time as they are surrounded by old log cabins and Connor Prairie workers dressed in old garb. While Connor Prairie is a great place to take kids any day of the year, parents should consider visiting it during the Headless Horseman season, which occurs during the last few weeks before Halloween. This kid-friendly, spooky hayride is guaranteed to leave a smile on any child’s face.

One of the most notable events at Connor Prairie throughout the entire year, the Headless Horseman is a family-friendly hayride with a spooky twist. Families come face-to-face with the Headless Horseman himself as they travel throughout the Connor Prairie grounds. Elsewhere on the grounds, during the Haunted Horseman season, Connor Prairie has a marionette show, a fortune teller and a number of other shows and activities.

Dates and Times

The Headless Horseman begins at Connor Prairie on October 13th and runs for three weeks on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The last Headless Horseman is held on Sunday, October 30th, just in time for Halloween. This series starts each day at 6:00pm and ends at or slightly after 9:00pm.

Indiana Bicentennial Celebration

The Haunted Horseman season kicks off with a special torch relay to celebrate Indiana’s 200th Birthday. A team of seven runners will transport a torch through the Connor Prairie grounds. The torch will then leave the area and head to its next stop, which is at Fishers City Hall.

Tickets are just $13.00 per person on non-premium evenings for the Headless Horseman. Thursdays and Sundays are considered non-premium days. On Fridays and Saturdays, ticket prices for the Headless Horseman jump a little in price. Rather than $13.00 per person, tickets on these nights are $17.00 per person. Families should consider purchasing tickets presale at one of a number of approved ticket sales centers across the Greater Indianapolis area. Presale tickets are $2.00 cheaper than tickets purchased onsite at Connor Prairie. A full list of presale ticket vendors is available on the Connor Prairie website.

Connor Prairie is located at 13400 Allisonville in Fishers, Indiana, about 2 miles west of the intersection of IN-37 and East 131st Street. Normally, Connor Prairie is open between 10:00am and 5:00pm. These hours are extended during the Headless Horseman season. The park is open every day except Mondays.
